| Ron Fournier's Metal Fabrication Workshops present valuable information, demonstration and hands-on-experience in metal shaping skills and English wheel use. The 3-day courses are an intense and focused experience in which students learn traditional English metal shaping techniques. Students develop and practice their metal shaping skills under the direction of a recognized expert who has been teaching metal shaping and fabrication to individuals in the automotive, motorcycle, aircraft and sculpture fields for over 16 years. Ron offers more than 40 years of practical metal shaping experience and real-world experience that give him a broad scope of knowledge upon which to base his instruction. | |
| Ron firmly believes that metal shaping students should learn not only through research and demonstrations, but also through hands-on, project-based experience. His workshops provide just that. During the workshop, students are taken through a series of ability appropriate exercises and projects. It is essential that the student develop strong basic skills before attempting more advanced projects and a sequential, technique-based workshop lays the foundation for high quality metal fabrication and shortens the learning curve. The workshop covers in-depth instruction on the proper use of the English wheel, as well as the interrelated processes necessary to create topnotch metal work. Topics such as hammer shaping, the use of station bucks, pattern development, shrinking and stretching metal are explained and taught; metal finishing techniques and welding instruction are also part of Fournier's courses. | ![]() |
